Stainless steel coils are widely used in modern construction, manufacturing, and decoration projects. Their construction quality directly impacts the safety, durability, and aesthetics of the project. To ensure that stainless steel coil construction meets industry standards, the following key specifications must be adhered to.
First, during the material acceptance phase, the specifications, model, and surface quality of the stainless steel coils must be strictly inspected. Material certificates should be verified to ensure that the chemical composition and mechanical properties meet design requirements, such as for common austenitic stainless steels like 304 and 316. The surface should be free of scratches, pits, or oxide layers to prevent them from affecting subsequent processing and use.
Before construction, the substrate must be cleaned and free of oil, dust, or other impurities to ensure a secure bond between the stainless steel coil and the base material. If welding is used, welders must hold relevant qualifications and strictly follow the Welding Procedure Qualification (WPS). Heat input must be controlled to prevent intergranular corrosion. For non-welding connection methods, such as riveting or bolting, ensure that the connecting materials are compatible and implement anti-loosening measures.
During installation, the principle of "largest parts first, smaller parts second, primary parts first, secondary parts second" should be followed to ensure tight and smooth joints between stainless steel coils. Joints between adjacent coils should be welded using argon arc welding or laser welding and polished to achieve a smooth, seamless finish. For outdoor or highly corrosive environments, passivation of welds and cut edges is recommended to enhance corrosion resistance.
Finally, after installation, a comprehensive inspection is required, including dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and joint security. Salt spray testing or electrochemical testing may be performed as necessary to verify corrosion resistance. Only by strictly adhering to these standards can the high quality and long-term reliability of stainless steel coil installation be ensured.
